Advocating for Public Policies that Mitigate the Effects of Scarcity and Poverty
Fighting for additional funding for the development of consistent and comprehensive data as well as an intentional research agenda which are necessary to develop effective solutions that meet the unique needs of low-income people.
Securing adequate federal funding for programs and legislation that give families access to paid family leave, and high quality, affordable childcare and education.
Increasing the earnings of our nation’s lowest wage earners and improving services for people living in deep poverty and homeless families that may help break the cycle of homelessness.
Working to eliminate food and housing insecurity and to ensure that paid family and medical leave are offered to workers.
Socioeconomic status is a critical ingredient of wellbeing across the life span... Advocacy, in its many forms, brings attention and voice to socioeconomic disparities and its intersectional impact on individuals and communities, and is a potent tool in shaping solutions and mechanisms for change.
