On May 30, 2023, APA President Thema Bryant, PhD, and 2022 APA Past-President Frank C. Worrell, PhD, presented on a U.S. Department of Education webinar, “Promoting Mental Health Supports for Educators of Color,” which highlighted recent data on the mental health of educators, specifically on the experiences of educators of color. Worrell presented data from APA’s most recent Stress in America survey and findings from APA’s Task Force on Violence Against Educators and School Personnel, while Bryant closed the proceedings with a keynote address focused on hope, encouragement, and healing.

The invitation to present at this event underscores the esteem with which Bryant and Worrell and the field of psychology are held and the strong relationships APA has built with federal agencies over the years.
